MISOOL LIVEABOARD DIVING
The Iconic Diving Cruise in Indonesia

Explore South Raja Ampat by Liveaboard

A Misool liveaboard Diving is considered a rite of passage for passionate divers. Frequently ranked among the world’s finest dive destinations, Misool deserves a place on every diver’s bucket list. Located in the heart of South Raja Ampat, this remote archipelago is home to some of the healthiest coral reefs, the richest marine biodiversity, and the most spectacular underwater landscapes on Earth.

“Misool is one of the most intact reef systems remaining on the planet. Places where
biodiversity is increasing rather than declining can now be counted on one hand.”

Dr. Mark Erdmann,
marine biologist and conservationist, Vice President of the Asia-Pacific division at Conservation
International.

With no roads and virtually no coastal infrastructure, a liveaboard is the only way to fully experience this untouched paradise. Each morning, you’ll wake up just minutes from world-class dive sites, maximizing your time underwater. Thanks to local regulations within the Misool Marine Reserve, dive operators are allocated exclusive time slots, ensuring your group is the only one at each dive site for one hour. Between dives, you’ll cruise through crystal-clear lagoons, towering limestone karsts, hidden beaches, and secluded islands, making the journey every bit as breathtaking above the surface as it is below. It’s no surprise that a Misool liveaboard diving trip is widely regarded as one of Indonesia’s most iconic and rewarding underwater adventures.

Day 2 | Diving the Best Dive site of the Dampier Strait

In the Dampier Strait, three iconic dive sites capture the essence of Raja Ampat’s biodiversity. Blue Magic is an underwater ridge teeming with life, where Trevallies, Barracudas, Giant Groupers, and Grey Reef Sharks patrol the blue, while Oceanic Manta Rays glide gracefully above. Cape Kri, the most renowned site, overflows with marine life — dense schools of Snappers, Trevallies, Barracudas, and Reef Sharks make it one of the most species-rich reefs ever recorded. Just off the village of Sawandarek, a wooden jetty shelters coral-draped pillars alive with Glassfish, Sweetlips, Batfish, and curious turtles — a serene yet vibrant scene that also reflects the success of the local coral restoration program.

In the late afternoon, a gentle walk through Sawandarek village offers a glimpse of local Papuan life, where smiles, children’s laughter, and the rhythm of island living bring a warm and authentic close to the day.

Sheer walls and overhangs then lead the way to the cave itself — the perfect setting for an unforgettable safety stop. After a three-hour navigation, the vessel will anchor for the night north of Wayil, with a final dive of the day at Barracuda Rock, a site teeming with fish life. If tides permit, a tender excursion will be organized through the stunning Wayil Lagoon.
